Sindh Govt To End Pensions With Amendments To Civil Service Act 1973

The Sindh government has decided to end the pension of retired employees. Therefore, they have decided to amend the Civil Service Act of 1973.

Furthermore, employees retiring after June 2024 will be subject to the proposal. In retrospect, both the Sindh government and employees will contribute to the Sind Employee Benefit Scheme. Thus, employees after retirement will be handed a golden cheque.

Meanwhile, the employees will contribute 12 and 10 percent, respectively, at a provincial rate. Additionally, the move is to ease the burden on the government and its expenditures. 

Earlier on, the Sind Cabinet approved the changes, titled Sindh Defined Contributory Pension Scheme 2024. Furthermore, the implementation of these changes will commence on 1st July 2024.
