Punjab Govt Announces 7-Day vacation For Schools due to heatwave

The Punjab government has recently announced a weeklong vacation with the rise in demand from private schools and universities. The decision came with the temperature rise and a heat wave.

Rana Sikandar Hayat, minister for education for Punjab, recently announced the news on X (formally Twitter). 

The government of Punjab has given private schools some permission to run. The Punjab government has made it clear that health comes first.

The Punjab movement said that people would be on leave from June 1st to August 14th. The government has changed the school day from 7 am to 11 am.

The private school association, however, has rejected the government’s decision. The private school association has demanded to change the vacation dates from June 1st to June 15th with the change in school timing, 7 am to 10 am.

The Met Office has warned of a heat wave in Punjab and Sindh. Met office identifies the rise in temperature in the atmosphere in Punjab and Sing resulting in heatwaves.
