Punjab Government Introduces Lahore Tram Services

In a bid to enhance transportation services, the Punjab government is to introduce a tram service in Lahore. Moreover, the service will cost Rs. 27 billion.

The Punjab government under Maryam Nawaz is to introduce a tram service in Lahore. The project aims to ease the commute, and will also enhance beautification in Lahore. Tram service will expand over 11 kilometers with 10 stops with a distance of 1 to 1.5 kilometers in between.

Furthermore, the cost amounts to Rs. 27 billion. Moreover, Lahore Development Authority (LDA) seeks inspiration from models in China and Finland. Ticket price is part of the post-launch plan.

Ares covered by the tram service include:

  • Main Boulevard to Kalma Chowk.
  • Liberty.
  • Main Market,
  • Mini Market.
  • Hali Road.

MM Aalam Road will be converted into a one-way road. This is to enhance Lahore’s beauty. Furthermore, Gaddafi Stadium will also host one-stop.
