Punjab CM directs to continue the laptop scheme for students after a seven-year gap

Punjab’s CM, Maryam Nawaz, in a meeting conducted on Friday, directed provincial ministers and other concerned bodies to re-launch the laptop scheme for students of Punjab after a seven-year gap.

Punjab’s CM conducted the meeting in the presence of Provincial Minister of Education Rana Sikandar Hayat, Information Minister Azma Zahid Bukhari, and Provincial Minister Maryam Aurangzeb, along with multiple secretaries. 

Maryam Nawaz further stated that laptop scheme discontinuation created hurdles for students during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The official data reveals 0.65 million students enrolled in schools and universities throughout Punjab.

The decision is a continuation of the Federal’s laptop scheme. The announcement of Shaza Fatima Khawaja was made on the announcement on 26th of May, 2023, working as a Special Assistant to the Prime Minister (SAPM). Shaza added further that the government targeted to provide 10,000 laptops for students across Pakistan.
