There is no match for the love and passion for cricket of Pakistani nation. They are super enthusiastic and crazy with regards to cricket. Sports activities, mostly cricket in Pakistan, has been disturbed after the 2009 terror attack on Sri Lankan cricket team in Lahore. But this time, felicitations to the Pakistani nation! Pakistan has been declared as the hosts of Asia Cup 2020. which would be on the T20 format. The decision was taken during the ICC meeting in Singapore. Also to note that cricket has now been included in Asian Games 2022 after it saw its dismissal from the platform in 2018.
As Asia Cup 2020 Hosts, We Are In For Good Times
Our Amended Inland Security Conditions
The unanticipated attack on the Sri Lankan cricket team back in 2009 resulted in several casualties. We had to bear up with deaths of 6 Pakistani police officers and 6 non-fatal injuries of the visiting team. Following the incident, our local grounds and pitches dried up for the international playing nations.
However, since the past 4-5 years, the security conditions have totally transformed and all potential threats are now under control. There seem to be no such hazards, for which the country’s law and order enforcement agencies should be given every credit for such peace restoration. In case of any security threat, the tournament will be moved to any neutral venue, decided upon mutual agreement. Thus, the next big task for PCB is to obtain security clearance so that every team consents to play in Pakistan without hesitation.

Benefits For Pakistan As Asia Cup 2020 Hosts
With the Asia Cup 2020 hosting awarded to Pakistan, the tournament holds great importance for us with several aspects. International cricket in Pakistan had long suspended since the 2009 shootout incident. Early this year in February, 8 matches of Pakistan Super League were played in Pakistan. An encouraging update is that from next year. the entire league will be played in here. This clearly shows that there are no security issues lurking and that we are a peace-loving nation.
And Then We Have An Anti-Pakistan Neighbor To Deal With…
If Asia Cup 2020 gets successfully accomplished in Pakistan, it would be highly beneficial for us in fetching international cricket at home back to normal. Rest assured, the tournament in Pakistan would invariably cast serious doubts on the participation of defending champions, India. India last played on Pakistan soil in 2008. As the past holds it the Indian cricketing side, from its BCCI to the national team, have nearly always played our opposition. The political relations between the two countries had deteriorated following the Mumbai terror attack in 2008. And, the recent Pulwama attack made it worse all the more. Understandably, they are planning out to bring discredit and distrust to us as the competition’s host with all their might. According to TOI,

Asia Cup Tournaments: Down The Memory Lane
From Conception To Formation To Materialization
It was essentially the Asian Cricket Council (ACC), regional administrative body overviewing cricket-related matters in the continent, which came up with the conception of this tournament in 1983. The upcoming Asia Cup contest in 2020 would be the 15th edition of its kind. According to record books, India possesses a clear dominance over others as competition winners. Asia Cup traditionally comprises Pakistan, India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan, with an on-and-off Asian qualifier nation. The cup triggered off with the aim of promoting goodwill between Asian nations. In the beginning, there were only three teams — India, Pakistan & Sri Lanka, which faced each other in Sharjah, UAE.

The ICC has modified terms of the tournament, introducing the Twenty 20 (T20) format. The international body announced to hold this event on a rotational basis between ODI & T20 international formats. Keeping this in view, the 2016 edition was played as T20. The next one in September 2020 would be a T20 contest, too.
