The nation celebrates Pakistan Day on Monday at homes in the face of outbreak of novel coronavirus. All kinds of public gatherings, including the military parade, have already been postponed as precautionary measures.
However, Radio Pakistan and Pakistan Television will air special programmes related to this day. Several Pakistani celebrities, diplomats and sportspersons took to varying social media platforms, requesting the nation to keeps their spirits high as they celebrate the day at homes amid social distancing.
In their Pakistan Day messages, President Arif Alvi and Prime Minister Imran Khan urged the nation to show utmost unity, discipline and passion in the fight against the coronavirus pandemic sweeping across the country.
The president and the premier also paid homage to the founding leaders of the country [Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, Allama Muhammad Iqbal and other members of the freedom movement].
Moreover, PM Imran urged people not to panic and take precautionary measures to fight the deadly contagion.
“The Pakistani nation has the capability to face any ordeal and God willing, we will stand victorious in this test,” the premier said.
There is no better message this President can think of, for March 23, Pakistan Day 2020, than what was said by the founder of Pakistan Quaid-e-Azam Mohammed Ali Jinnah in 1947. My dear Pakistanis, his every word is for YOU and applies to the Corona Crisis in Pakistan today ? https://t.co/uiKK2OdF1L

Pakistan Resolution Day
Pakistan Resolution Day is a day when the nation commemorates the Lahore Resolution passed on 23 March 1940. Today, Pakistan also celebrates the adoption of its first constitution during the transition of the Dominion of Pakistan to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan on 23 March 1956 making it world’s first Islamic republic. A Republic Day parade by the armed forces is a part of the celebrations every year.
However, this year due to coronavirus outbreak in the country, all the parade and special programs have been cancelled.
