Norway, Spain, and Ireland Set to Recognize Palestine

Norway set to recognize a Palestinian state. Norway, the only non EU-state has been vocal about peace between Israel and Palestine.

Though Norway has been a close ally to the US, it has long believed that the only peace solution is a two-state solution.

Norway’s Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Stoere stated last month that the country was ready to make any decision that would result in peace.

Ireland is to recognize Palestine. Local news states that only a formal announcement is left

The news came in soon after the Spanish Prime Minister’s announcement, finalizing a date on Palestinian recognition.

Over the last decade, many European countries have recognized Palestine.

Sweden was the first to recognize in 2014, considering it has many Palestinian immigrants.

Many other European countries and the USA are still hesitant to take a stand for Palestine. These countries insist on primarily assuring boundary lines.

Israel has warned countries to recognize Palestine, calling it surrender to Iran and Hamas. Israel’s foreign minister took it to the X (formally Twitter) with a video message.

There has been political unrest throughout the globe since October 7th. Hamas’s attack on Israel killed 1,170 people, mostly civilians. In retaliation, Israel has killed over 35,647 people, mostly civilians.
