National Assembly Approves Budget 2024-2025 amidst Opposition Walkout

News of the day: National Assembly accepted the financial budget for the year 2024-2025. Despite the opposition’s outcry. Speaker Ayaz Sadiq did not allow the opposition to speak.

Budget’s approval wasn’t the only highlight of the day. Despite the opposition’s uproar, the opposition passed a bill for an increase in flight fares. Implemented from the start of this month, passengers flying economy class will have to pay an extra Rs. 12, 500 for their ticket.

However, those traveling in other classes (Business, and first-class) face more considerate tax increases. Travelers to North, South, and Central America will pay an extra Rs. 350,000. Rs.100,000 hike, especially for first-class and business-class to the USA and Canada.

Meanwhile, a hike of Rs.30,000 in business, and first-class was approved for traveling to Middle East. Same class will pay an extra Rs.210,000 for Europe, and Oceania.
