Karachi’s Mayor Murtaza Wahab announces a holiday in Karachi on 29th. The holiday is to commemorate Abdullah Shah Gazi’s urs (death anniversary).
Murtaza Wahab announced that all the institutions falling under Karachi Metropolitan Board (KMC) will remain closed. Essentials will remain open. Decision in compliance with the city council’s resolution.
Abdullah Shah Gazi was a Sufi saint who migrated to Sindh in the Umayyad dynasty. Moreover, he is a Syed (Decedent of Prophet Muhammad).

Qawwali and Milad mark the urs. Devotees from all over the country come to pay their respects.
This year marks the 1,294th annual urs. Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori marked its start.
