Three people were killed when a strong suicide bomb went off at Akora Khattak’s Darul Uloom Haqqania in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Friday, according to the chief secretary and IG. He was the leader of the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Samiul Haq (JUI-S).
After his father, Maulana Samiul Haq, was killed in 2018, Maulana Hamid-ul-Haq took over JUI-S. Sami-ul-Haq was stabbed several times in his Rawalpindi home.
A police officer in the city stated that the explosion occurred inside the school following Friday prayers.
KP Inspector General of Police Zulfiqar Hameed said that the attack was aimed at Maulana Hamidul Haq at Darul Uloom Haqqania.
Reporters were informed that Maulana Hamid-ul-Haq, the leader of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Sami, had indeed passed away. The KP IGP also said that the blast was caused by suicide.
Earlier, Muhammad Asim, a spokesman for Rescue 1122, told ARY News that at least 20 people were hurt in the explosion. He said that recovery efforts are still going on at the scene where the accident was reported.

The explosion at Darul Uloom Haqqania in Akora Khattak was strongly criticized by President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Mohsin Naqvi, the interior minister, and other important people.

President Zardari condemned the attack, expressing hope that the injured would recover soon and that Hamid-ul-Haq’s soul would rest in peace forever.
PM Sharif also prayed for the healing of JUI (S) Chief Maulana Hamid ul-Haq and other hurt people.
The prime minister told everyone that the hurt should get all the medical help they could get.
He asserted that even the most heinous and immoral acts of terrorism cannot weaken our resolve to combat terrorism. He said again that the goal was to get rid of all forms of terrorism.
