There is a reason why they have ‘super’ in Pakistan Super League (PSL) – because the tournament is super amazing. Off and on, we see people comparing PSL to IPL (Indian Premier League). The fact of the matter here is that regardless of how much money IPL can bring on the table to buy players, they don’t offer the same thrill PSL does. At least now they don’t given how controversial the tournament has become.
Anyways, back to the nail-biting and one of the favorite city rival matches of PSL, Karachi Kings Vs. Lahore Qalandars took place last night. The match was the qualification decider for both teams and oh boy, the fight they gave till the end was absolutely a thrill to watch. Not to forget how every PSL fan match watching that game was about to have a heart-attack (I am not even kidding).
The game started off with Lahore Qalandars batting first and giving a decent target of 155 runs to Kings. The partnership between Sohail Tanvir and Muhammad Rizwan of 55 runs added much to the total of Qalandars. On the other hand, one of the biggest disappointments in PSL, Chris Gayle was dropped from KK’s side and we weren’t surprised on how fans too it:
Basically
Raindrops, catches drop, Bat drop and now Gayle drop

LOLOLOLOL
Favourite memory of PSL for lahore is Bat Drop and for karachites “Gayle Drop”

The suspense started when it was KK’s turn to bat in order to meet the target. Showing a tougher and more consistent side compared to LQ, Babar Azam managed to add 49 runs to the score card.
PSL ASIDE. BABAR AZAM IS A FUCKING BLESSING FOR PAKISTANI CRICKET.

The match then boiled down to 10 runs needed on 2 balls with Pollard on pitch. During this time, I am not even kidding when I say this but fans were literally on the verge of losing their cool. The crucial moment was this very match deciding target. With 2 sixes on 2 balls, Pollard ended the game for Lahore Qalandars.
Lahore has a bad history with KPs. First Kevin Pietersen, now Kieron Pollard. We refuse to play cricket with players having these initials.

So Hurt…
Afridi did to Quetta what Pollard did to Lahore hehe

The End Was Everything!
I can’t even say Lahore gave it away. Karachi snatched the game from Qalandars’ jaws. It was brilliant. Pollard was unbelievable. Congrats.

For those of you who are unaware of this, Lahoris still have a chance to survive PSL based on today’s match between Islamabad United and Karachi Kings:
