ARY News reported on Friday that people in Jacobabad stopped an effort to kidnap several female teachers.
The event took place early in the morning in the area controlled by the B-Section police station.
On their way to school, several armed thieves allegedly attacked a school van. The thieves stopped the van and tried to take the people inside, including the female teachers.
A video of the event that went viral showed the female teachers praying while it was happening. The teachers were among the nine people who were in the van at the time.
When people in the area fought back against the kidnapping attempt, the thieves opened fire into the air and ran away.
Notably, three Sui Gas workers were taken by armed thieves in the B-Section Thull police station limits, which is close to Nasir Shakh in Jacobabad, just two days before.

There are efforts going on to find and free the prisoners, and the police are looking into the situation.
To stop such an incident from happening again, the government has asked field teams working in high-risk places to follow stricter security rules.
Jacobabad and its surroundings have seen an increase in crime, especially kidnappings for ransom. Professionals and government workers are often the main targets.
Concerns about the safety of workers, especially those who do their jobs in remote areas, have grown because of this worrying trend.
