Iran fired a salvo of ballistic missiles at Israel on Tuesday in response to Israel’s attack on Hezbollah, which is a group allied with Iran.

In Washington, D.C., Vice President Joe Biden said that the US was ready to help Israel protect itself against missile attacks from Iran.
Biden talked on X about a meeting he had earlier that day with Vice President Kamala Harris and the White House national security team. “We discussed how the United States is prepared to help Israel defend against these attacks, and protect American personnel in the region,” he said.
Iran, which backs Hezbollah, had promised to fight back against Israel. This made people worry that the war could spread to other countries in the area, even though the US, which is Israel’s closest and strongest ally, was trying to keep it from happening.
In the latest killing of a high-ranking Hezbollah official, the Israeli government said it had killed Muhammad Jaafar Qasir, who was in charge of transferring weapons from Iran and its allies.
