Google is collaborating with social enterprise Tech Valley to promote quality journalism in Pakistan. Moreover, the collaboration aims to push 1000 Pakistani journalists up the ladder of journalism.

Adding to the new endeavor, the program aims to provide quality training, necessary tools, and resources to assure compelling and accurate digital storytelling.
The tech giant initiated a new program in 2018, ‘Google New Initiative’, (GNI). Furthermore, the program aimed at providing innovative ideas to 100 countries. Google accent in journalism falls under GNI’s ambit.

Meanwhile, GNI statement read, “We’re very excited to announce the launch of Digital Sahafat, a program by the Google News Initiative, in partnership with Tech Valley, to equip 1,000 journalists in Pakistan with the essential tools, training, and resources to produce accurate and engaging digital news stories,”
Additionally, program is to launched on 4 September, and will host Asia Pacific Accreditation Program (APAC) managing director Kate Beddoe. APAC is a news partner with Google.
