Published in Journal Thorax the research connects sleeping in the high skies and alcohol consumption. Heart rate and blood pressure slow down during sleep. Alcohol further slows down the process. The combination is particularly harmful for people with cardiac problems. Blood oxygen levels (SpO2) crash due to the combined exposure of alcohol and hypobaric conditions (high altitude). Further leads to oxygen deficiency in the human brain which can be fatal.
