The PMD observed that dengue cases have increased since mid-September. They found that the number of dengue infections typically rises from September 20 to December 5, based on trends from the last 10 years. Dengue spreads easily when temperatures range from 26°C to 29°C and when humidity levels are around 60%.
Everyone should take steps to prevent the spread of dengue requested by PMD. In Punjab, health officials report hundreds of new cases each week. The Health Department advises people to keep their homes and surroundings clean and dry in helping to stop the virus.
