Dongfeng Sokon – By Dreams To Glory
Dongfeng Sokon (DFSK), also known as Dongfeng Xiaokang (东风小康) in Chinese, is a joint venture between Dongfeng and Chongqing Sokon Industry Group Co Ltd., formed on June 27th, 2003.
Dongfeng translates to East Wind.
DFSK produces microvans, flat-bed commercial trucks, and passenger vehicles under the Dongfeng Fengguang brand. Manufacturing for DFSK takes place in a total of four different facilities, two of which are located in Hubei Shiyan and two in Chongqing.
Counting six global automakers as partners, DFSK has more Signed-foreign joint ventures than any other Chinese carmaker. These partnerships allow it to produce and sell a variety of foreign-branded products in China including those of Citroën, Honda, Kia, Nissan, Peugeot, and Renault. Other brand names associated with Dongfeng include Fengshen, Infiniti, Luxgen, and Venucia.
Dongfeng Motor Corporation is a Chinese state-owned automobile manufacturer headquartered in Wuhan, China. Traditionally one of the “Big Three” Chinese automakers, Dongfeng is currently in the top four. In addition to commercial and consumer vehicles, it also manufactures parts and cooperates with foreign companies.

The Company Logo
Its graphic logo resembles a pair of revolving spring swallows in a circle, vividly representing the vision ‘Two Swallows Dancing with Dongfeng’ and evoking the sense of the East Wind (Dongfeng) bringing warmth and enchanting sunny days; every living thing is full of vitality, intimating the company’s prosperous future. The logo also resembles a double ‘人’ (the Chinese character ‘ren’, meaning ‘people’), implying that the Company infuses its business with a people-oriented philosophy.
History
The story of Dongfeng Sokon (DFSK) can be traced back to DFM (Dongfeng Motor Group, China), originally founded in 1969. 2003 saw DFM start the production of minivans, following the establishment of Dongfeng Yuan Vehicle Co Ltd. Now known as DFSK Co Ltd the company is China’s second-largest vehicle manufacturer.
Dongfeng Motor Corporation and Sokon Group jointly established DFSK and began to produce vehicles. By the time May 2005 rolled in, the first batch of DFSK commercial vehicles was exported to overseas markets.
Then, by October 2007, DFSK’s commercial vehicles passed the EU certification, making it one of the first Chinese auto brands to receive the EU certification.
After this, it was a matter of time, success came running! By September 2008, DFSK’s first batch of 2000 commercial vehicles was exported to the European market. By May 2012, Sokon Group was listed on the Shanghai Stock Exchange
DFSK’s one millionth vehicle rolled off the assembly line, and DFSK ranked No. 1 in China’s micro-vehicle industry export.
Along came June 2016 and U.S. Silicon Valley New Energy Vehicle R&D Center was officially established. So by October 2018, the first coupe-type SUV Glory ix5 was launched. Also, Sokon Indonesia factory was put into production, becoming the first overseas manufacturing base of Sokon Group
By December 2019, Fengon SUV series products entered the European market in batches, opening a new stage of developing both CV and PV in overseas markets
DFSK 3rd (2019) Overseas Partners Conference. And finally, in the recent past, October 2020, SERES electric vehicles obtained EU certification and the first batch of 200 electric vehicles were exported to Germany.

The company was the second-largest Chinese automaker in 2012 by production volume manufacturing over 2.76 million whole vehicles that year. Dongfeng has two listed subsidiaries—Dongfeng Motor Group Co and Dongfeng Automobile Co Ltd.

DFSK Motors in Pakistan
Regal Motors has finally and officially launched the Glory 580 Pro SUV in Pakistan. The launch, similar to those of a few other new entrants in Pakistan, was broadcasted via a Facebook video stream on December 20th, 2020.
The DFSK Glory 580 Pro is a Compact Crossover SUV that will go head to head with other contenders in the segment such as Proton X70, MG HS, Kia Sportage, and Hyundai Tucson. Furthermore, it is going to be the only crossover SUV in the segment to offer seating for 7 passengers.
DFSK launched the Glory 580 SUV in Pakistan in 2018 in partnership with Regal Motors. Within the first 2 years of its launch, the SUV was sold as a complete built-up unit (CBU) in Pakistan. However, a few months ago, the very first Glory 580 SUV rolled off the assembly line in Pakistan. And as per a trusted source from the industry, the Glory 580 pro will also be sold as a CKD vehicle that is assembled locally.
