Babar Azam has officially resigned as captain of the Pakistan cricket team, making the decision independently without pressure from the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). His discussions with coach Gary Kirsten, who supported him in One-Day Internationals (ODIs) but suggested a new captain for the T20 squad, significantly influenced Babar’s choice. He cited personal reasons and a sense of detachment from team decisions, particularly following Pakistan’s World Cup campaign, as factors in his resignation.
