American Woman Refuses to Return Home After Being Abandoned by Pakistani Teenager

An American woman who traveled to Pakistan for love has refused to return home despite arrangements for her departure. Stranded at Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport for weeks, she remains adamant about staying in the country after her teenage lover abandoned her.

Refusal to Board Flight Despite Arrangements

Authorities, including Sindh Governor Kamran Khan Tessori and philanthropist Zafar Abbas, facilitated her return by arranging a visa and airline ticket. However, when escorted to her flight under police supervision, she repeatedly refused to board.

According to airport sources, she was taken to the departure lounge and later escorted to the aircraft. Despite strict supervision, she declined to board her Qatar Airways flight to New York via Doha. Her refusal has puzzled airport officials, who remain uncertain about her next move.

Abandoned After Leaving Everything Behind

The woman, identified as 33-year-old Onijah Andrew Abson, arrived in Pakistan in October on a one-month visa. She had traveled from the U.S. after falling in love with 19-year-old Nidal Memon from Karachi’s Garden East.

According to her statements, she had divorced her husband and left behind her previous life to be with Memon. However, upon arrival, she was left stranded when Memon, under pressure from his family, refused to marry her.

Authorities Seek Resolution

With no place to go, airport officials contacted the U.S. Consulate for assistance, but a response is still pending. The Interior Ministry has also been alerted to the case.

After failing to convince her to leave, airport authorities moved Onijah to the emergency clinic due to her worsening health. The case gained public attention when Governor Tessori noticed the distressed woman at the airport late Sunday night.

Her insistence on staying in Pakistan despite having no support continues to raise questions about her next steps.
