Even though Uber Taxi service has taken the modern day public transport by storm, the international cab service might not do so well in Pakistan. Yes, there is no doubt that Uber will bring in a convenient experience like no other, however, there are multiple reasons that speak otherwise.
Here’s why we think Uber might find it extremely tough to grip their paws in Pakistan.
1. Uber is targeting a niche market – people who already own cars are the type of audience they would best be able to cater to

3. Easy Taxi tried the same method and failed in the past. Even though the 5th venture of the international chain was offering lower rates than Uber

4. Uber has lost a lot of value ever since their drivers were involved in rape cases in India. Their venture in the neighbouring country has seriously dented their reputation

5. The rates for Uber are too high since it is competing with rickshaw rides – 100 rs base fare, 13.7 rs per Km and 3.7 rs per minute

Although these reasons do seem very realistic, it would be unfair to not mention that Uber is doing everything in their power to create a surreal experience for Pakistanis who prefer traveling by a car instead of a rickshaw or a yellow cab.
