Shoaib Akhtar Predicts Champions Trophy Finalists and Key Matches

Former Pakistani fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar has shared his predictions for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. He believes that Pakistan and India will not only face each other in the group stage but also meet again in the final of the tournament.

During a media event in Dubai, Shoaib Akhtar confidently said, “I am hopeful that Pakistan will defeat India on February 23.” He added, “If Pakistan beats India and New Zealand, they will have already won half the tournament.”

The cricket legend also named his picks for the semi-finalists, suggesting that Pakistan, India, and Afghanistan could reach the top four. “If Afghanistan’s players show maturity and their batsmen remain patient, they can surprise everyone,” he remarked.

The ninth ICC Champions Trophy starts on February 19, with defending champions Pakistan hosting New Zealand in Karachi. Pakistan won the 2017 edition after defeating India in the final.

This year, Pakistan is placed in Group A along with India, New Zealand, and Bangladesh. The much-anticipated Pakistan vs. India match is set for February 23 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.

Pakistan will play their last group game against Bangladesh in Rawalpindi on February 27, while India will begin their campaign against Bangladesh on February 20 and face New Zealand on March 2.
