The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced the ICC Men’s T20I Team of the Year for 2024. Babar Azam is the only Pakistani player to make it to this special list of top performers.

Rohit Sharma, the captain of India’s T20I World Cup-winning team, leads the squad. To show India’s strong performance, four Indian players are part of this team.
Rohit Sharma had a fantastic year, scoring 378 runs in 11 matches. He averaged 42 and had a strike rate of over 160. His highlights include three half-centuries, with a powerful 92 against Australia in the Super Eight stage of the World Cup. Alongside Rohit, Hardik Pandya, Jasprit Bumrah, and Arshdeep Singh also earned spots on the team.
Despite Pakistan’s struggles in the T20I World Cup 2024 under Babar Azam’s leadership, Babar impressed with his individual performance throughout the year. He played 24 matches, scoring 738 runs with an average of 33.54. He hit six half-centuries, with his highest score being 75.
Other players in the ICC Men’s T20I Team of the Year include Travis Head (Australia), Phil Salt (England), Sikandar Raza (Zimbabwe), Rashid Khan (Afghanistan), and Wanindu Hasaranga (Sri Lanka).
This announcement follows the ICC’s reveal of the ODI Team of the Year for 2024, which included three Pakistani players: Saim Ayub, Shaheen Afridi, and Haris Rauf. These players were recognized for their outstanding performances last year.
