German Diplomat Found Dead in Islamabad’s Diplomatic Enclave

The body of Thomas Fielder, a German diplomat serving as Second Secretary at the German Embassy, was found in his apartment in Islamabad’s Diplomatic Enclave, according to local authorities.

Investigation Underway

While the exact cause of death remains uncertain, initial findings suggest Fielder had previously suffered a minor heart attack, which may have contributed to the incident, police officials said. A detailed post-mortem report is awaited to confirm the cause of death.

Authorities have launched an investigation into the circumstances of the diplomat’s death. The German Embassy has been notified, and additional details will follow as they emerge.

Fielder had been living in the Diplomatic Enclave, a highly secure area that houses foreign diplomats and international offices.

Late-Night Attack Targets Islamabad Police Station

In a separate incident, a late-night mini-rocket attack targeted the I-9 Police Station in Islamabad. Sources reported that the attack occurred at approximately 11:30 p.m.

The duty officer initially dismissed the sound of the explosion as a tire burst, delaying the response. It wasn’t until morning that the station’s damaged wall revealed impact marks, indicating the structure had been hit by a mini-rocket-like object.

A bomb disposal squad was sent to the scene to gather forensic evidence. Investigations into the attack are ongoing.
