Islamic scholar Dr. Zakir Naik has warned content creators that earning money from YouTube ads is “haram” according to Islamic principles. Speaking at a public event in Port City, Dr. Naik explained that ads featuring women and music are unethical, even if alcohol ads are blocked. He emphasized that YouTube monetization often shows inappropriate content, making the income forbidden.

Dr. Naik mentioned that, despite his millions of followers, channels resharing his videos often get more views because they use images of women in their thumbnails. He encouraged creators to avoid earning money through questionable means and assured them that focussing on faith would bring greater blessings, without negatively affecting their livelihood.
