The TV show industry has grown bigger and superstars taking part in it too. Last year so many outstanding TV shows were released which grabbed a large amount of audience, some were already running shows and others debuted with greatness.
Last year Primetime Emmy awards 2021 was held, which was the night of the stars where Kate Winslet looked stunning in her dress on the red carpet.
The winners were surprising and unpredictable. Just like the Oscars, Emmy awards also got popular in recent years due to endless TV shows on various streaming platforms.
Looking at the demand, producers and directors are investing their time to create a masterpiece that lets the audience binge-watch it. Just like this year Money Heist Season 5 was watched by the whole world on the day, it got released.
So, without further a due let’s look at the Emmy 2021 awards and the winners who held that precious award.
Primetime Emmy Award Winners 2021-Who Dominated?
The 73rd edition of the Television Academy’s top honors is being hosted by Cedric the Entertainer on CBS. Last time Emmy awards were held but in a different way due to pandemics, but this year’s award was held in person and with fun.
The night was dominated by the “Ted Lasso”, “The Crown” and “Mare of Easttown”. Ted Lasso was the debutant comedy series, which surely attracted a good audience and got popular. Apple TV+ show “Ted Lasso” bagged four awards which are not bad at all.
On the other hand, Netflix’s renowned series “The Crown” dominated with some major awards including Best Drama, Best Actress, and others.
No one can deny in admitting, that The Crown legit helped Netflix to get to the high rating network and streaming platform. The Crown took almost 10 awards and the mini-series “The Queen Gambit” bagged two.
Apart from 10 awards, The Crown also made history with the fourth time in 67 years that the Emmy for outstanding directing of a drama series has gone to a woman.
Jessica Hobbs said, “Not a lot of women have won this award so I feel I’m standing on the shoulders of some extraordinary people,” she said on stage accepting the award.
“I’m very grateful for the path they led, and I particularly would like to pay tribute to my mom who at 77 is still directing.”
Kate Winslet also returned with the mini-series and won the best actress award in the limited series show for her outstanding performance.
Tight Race For Streaming Networks
Emmy awards are not only for the TV Shows but also for the streaming networks too. As this year’s race was tight between Netflix and HBO.
HBO tried to overpower Netflix with its partner HBO MAX but Netflix managed to take the lead with 10 awards and HBO 9.
