The winter nemesis; dry skin. Even after lathering layers of moisturizers, the skin tends to remain dry and itchy. Here are some simple ways you can employ to keep your skin moisturized and healthy:
1. Honey
Honey is one of the best natural moisturizers we have and it’s easily available. It gives your skin a healthy glow, keeps it hydrated, and makes it smoother. Apply honey to the dry areas of your skin, preferably before a shower and leave it be for ten to fifteen minutes.
2. Milk
Milk helps with the exfoliation of dead skin cells and helps the skin retain its moisture, thereby helping you get rid of flaky, dry skin.
3. Avoid very hot showers
Extremely hot water adds to the loss of moisture in your skin. Try bathing with warm water so your skin remains moisturized. This will help your scalp stay moisturized and avoid dandruff, too.
4. Olive Oil
Olive oil too, has moisturizing properties and it helps counter the damage that results from overexposure to the sun. Apply olive oil, preferably before a shower, to dry skin areas and leave it be for around fifteen minutes.
5. Banana and Coconut Oil
Bananas can help you git rid of dry and itchy skin really fast. Mash a banana or two, mix it with coconut oil and apply it to dry skin areas.
6. Yogurt
It is one of the best hydrating products that we have available; it helps keep your skin moisturized and dead skin cells exfoliate. Apply yogurt to dry skin areas and leave it on for around ten minutes.
7. Drink lots of water
The amount of water we consume during winters is relatively less, and this is when our skin needs it the most. Make sure you drink ample water to keep your skin hydrated and healthy.
Taking care of your skin is no Herculean task; with simple, easy measures, you can keep your skin from being dry and itchy this winter.
