PM Directs the Development of Skill Labor Company

The government plans to establish a Pakistan skilled labor company. The government’s primary
focus is to provide jobs in the short term. Already, Pakitan is dealing with high-scale
unemployment.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif chaired a meeting on Wednesday, 8th May. The PM was briefed
by NAVTTC, Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis. Pointers discussed pertained to the amount of
technical training present in Pakistan with the present Human resource conditions. 

The government aims to establish a Labor company, providing technical training. The target set
by the government is to entertain at least 60,000 Pakistanis annually. 

The PM directed NAVTTC to ensure the development of high-tech technical institutes
throughout Pakistan. The institutes shall provide internationally recognized certificates.  
Directed by the premier, the Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis is to assist NAVTTC, ensuring
coordination and transparency to develop employment opportunities.

Unemployment in Pakistan is on the rise. UN population estimate report for July 2024 points. 
Pakistan stands at number 5 as the most populous country in the world. Pakistan has a population
of 240 billion, an urbanization percentile of only 35%, and a medium age of 21. Unemployment
exists and is growing. A further reading depicts the birth rate at 2.2% and the migration rate,
amounting to negative figures, -165,988.

The government needs to further work on providing employment opportunities and, at the same
time providing for a better web structure for employment.
